Guidelines
- A nomination must be for a program, project, parish, committee or person that is an outstanding example of stewardship.
- A nomination may be for completed or ongoing works, provided the inception date was in 2006 or later.
- Nominees must allow their submission to be published in the 2009 edition of “TENS Best Practices in Stewardship.”
- Creativity counts!
- Details are helpful! If it was a creative example that also worked, share the results as part of the submission. If a theme - for example the Millennium Development Goals - was prominently featured, show us how it was included.
- Submissions need not be limited to the annual pledge campaign. All aspects of stewardship may be included: environmental initiatives, planned (legacy) giving, capital giving, mission (outreach) funding and more.

Each diocesan bishop of The Episcopal Church was invited to nominate a program, project, parish, committee or individual exhibiting best practices in stewardship education, training, recruitment or communication.
Fifteen of the sixteen submissions have been documented to provide an outstanding new resource for congregations to create the “idea book” you’ve been waiting for!

Twelve additional programs are also included in 2006 Best Practices Award Submissions to provide you with a full scope of exciting ideas for Stewardship education, training, recruitment, and communication.
